KAYAKING INSTRUCTION AND CLASSES
Join us at Blue Ridge Paddling to experience whitewater kayaking with one of our highly experienced and certified kayak instructors. The Nolichucky River, nearby lakes, and the French Broad River provide a great venue to try whitewater kayaking and to progress at your own pace. While the Nolichucky is in our backyard, we will enjoy multiple different rivers and lakes in the region that best fit your goals. Whitewater Kayak Introduction
The Whitewater Kayak Introduction class is perfect for beginners and requires no previous experience. Our certified instructors will be there every step of the way to teach you the foundational concepts of whitewater kayaking, while prioritizing safety and having fun. Begin your day on flat water to become comfortable with the equipment and necessary skills to enjoy a fun and mild whitewater section of river in the afternoon!
Course Length: 1 Day (9am - 4pm)
Location: BRP Erwin, Tennessee
Class Focus: Basic whitewater kayak skills such as beginner strokes, boat control, and safety techniques.
Included: High Quality Equipment, Instructor, and Transportation.
Age Limit: 8 years or older. Minors must have accompanying adults.

Whitewater Kayak 2-Day Class
The perfect course for the beginner looking to build a larger foundation of skills compared to our one-day class. The two-day class is also the perfect bridge for the intermediate to build confidence and expand skills over two fun days! Experience the next step in your kayak progression on day two while expanding your paddling technique, stroke concepts, and more dynamic river maneuvers. Your instructor will assist in selecting paddling venues that best suit you and your group’s goals.
Course Length: 2 days (9am - 5pm)
Location: BRP Erwin, Tennessee
Class Focus: Paddle/stroke techniques, boat control, and intermediate river moves.
Included: High Quality Equipment, Instructor, and Transportation.
Age Limit: 8 years or older. Minors must have accompanying adults.

Private Kayak Instruction
A fully customizable and tailored experience for you or your group’s specific goals. Start the morning by developing your progression plan for the day (or multiple days) with your instructor. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced looking to fine tune the roll, private instruction is great for anyone looking to get undivided attention and a more personable experience. We also have available the most up to date fleet of kayaks, including down river freestyle kayaks if you are looking to unlock the playful side of kayaking!
