Blue Ridge Paddling offers whitewater rafting on the relaxing and family-friendly Lower Nolichucky as well as the more adventurous class (II and III-III+) French Broad. Lower Nolichucky
Our lower Nolichucky river trip is perfect for all ages and experience levels. Navigate through class I-II(III) rapids in a beautiful setting with riverside lunch options available. This trip is laid back, perfect for families and kids looking for a few splashes and ample swim time. This is a perfect first timer's trip!
Trip Length: Varies depending on water level and group wants and needs(4-8 miles).
Location: BRP Erwin, Tennessee.
Rapid Classification: I-III
Age: 8 years or older. Minors must have accompanying adults.
Includes: All gear and guides. Lunch is included upon request.
What to Bring: Closed toed shoes and swimwear.
French Broad River
The French Broad river trip includes 5 miles of fun consistent class (II-III+) rapids on the world's 3rd oldest river. The scenery is beautiful and the wildlife is abundant. All French Broad trips include a river side lunch upon request and ample swim time throughout the trip Including jump rock! Come experience the beautiful Pisgah National Forest the way it was meant to be seen, with experienced guides that are here to make your trip one to remember!
Trip Length: 3-5 hours depending on water level and group size.
Location: BRP in Erwin, Tennessee OR meet us in Barnard, North Carolina at the river! (36 minutes from downtown Asheville).
Rapid Classification: II-III(IV)
Age: 8 years or older. Minors must have accompanying adults.
What’s Included: All gear and lunch included upon request.
What to Bring: Closed toed shoes and swimwear. We can provide appropriate river shoes if needed.
Ducky Rentals
1 SINGLE AND DOUBLE INFLATABLE KAYAK RENTAL (DUCKS)
Experience ultimate freedom by navigating your own inflatable kayak through fun and splashy class I-II (III) rapids on the Lower Nolichucky river. Our shuttle drivers will take you or your group to the put-in, conveniently located at Chestoa Recreation area, only 5 minutes away. You will then float down all the way to Blue Ridge Paddling's riverside beach. Here, you can choose to take a riverside break before heading back down river, or you can conveniently end your trip right on the beach. We have multiple trip options available for guests, which include guided and self guided trips. Give us a call so we can accommodate your group.

Tubing
SELF GUIDED TUBE RENTALS ON THE LOWER NOLICHUCHY
A classic way to experience the river on a warm summer day is tubing the lower Nolichucky! A fun and relaxing time the whole family is sure to enjoy. Our tubing trips start at Chestoa Recreation area and allow tubers 1-2 hours of float time down to Blue Ridge Paddlings private beach take out. Each tubing trip includes a shuttle ride to Chestoa Recreation area, only a 5 minute ride from Blue Ridge Paddling. Conveniently float down to your car located at BRP for a no hassle experience.
